Guest Room Addition

As you know,
I've been looking for something different for the end of the bed in the guest room.

I was tired of the dated, white wicker chest.
See it there in the corner of the photo?
The room needed something with a little more warmth;
a little more rusticness.
I had considered painting the wicker,
but couldn't decide on what color.

So, I took my 40% coupon
and cruised the isles at Hobby Lobby looking for inspiration.

At first, nothing caught my eye

until

I saw this.

Total scrumptiousness.

Total deliciousness.

Total perfectness.

Onto the cart it went

(it wouldn't fit inside the cart)

and off I skipped

with my coupon in hand

and the sound of little birds in my head.

(cheap! cheap! cheap!)

After hauling the white wicker chest to the attic
to be sold at the Flea this spring,
I settled the new addition into her new home
and filled her with fluffy pillows and crisp linens.

I adore the leather strap closure.

Here's a peek at the current vignette on the dresser in the guest room,

Candelabra: A $4.00 ReStore find.

the bedside table with a little Swedish topiary,

Small Topiary: Antique Farmhouse; clock: Pottery Barn

and ironstone on the other dresser.

I'm still skipping....

(but the little birds are quiet now ~
in case you're wondering.)

  17. It is wonderful. I do like those leather straps too. I showed my hubby your allure wood flooring and he is sold! yep...as soon as my sick little Holly is better we will visit Home Depot to see what they carry in stock. The hardest part is deciding which color. Your 'tradition' is in one of our choices.

PS please say a prayer for my sweetie...Holly has a kidney infection and is alot of pain with fever. I was at Kaiser with her all day yesterday. She has had waves of sever pain and fever for over 42 hrs now. thank you. ox

  65. That is about the sweetest guest room I've ever seen. It's so charming! I love everything about it. The best part though is that gorgeous wicker trunk you found and placed at the foot of the bed. It fits perfectly and I love how you're planning on using it. I remember seeing those at Hobby Lobby a while back. I loved them, but didn't have anywhere to use it. I could find a spot now. Just love it!! I'll have to keep my eyes open for them.
