{ caroline, annie and tim }

my week will be consisting of

this

and this

and this

which used to look like this

a couple years ago

when i brought this lovely lady home from
my friend's antique shop

she was lovingly repurposed by hubby and me
to hold our television set in the living room

she is currently wearing a pretty coat of pale pistachio green
called "sweet caroline" by benjamin moore

i fell in love with that color because it coordinated with the linen pillow slips
i used to have in the living room

which i still love to this day
(and are now tucked safely away for the time being)

but i noticed during the evening hours when the living room lights were turned on
that pretty "sweet caroline" took on a limey green cast
which i just can't look at anymore

and since my serious hemp-linen grain sack addiction kicked in last summer,
it's been all about these beauties

creamy white with pale red

very french country farmhouse in my mind  ♥

poor sweet caroline just doesn't go with anything in the room anymore.

she has to take a hike

so, this week miss annie armoire is getting a pretty dress of creamy white
to coordinate with the creamy white grain sacks with the pale french red stripes.

but...

she's not the only one that will be wearing a new frock of white

this beautiful primed piece of furniture will, too...

can you guess what room she'll be residing in...?

stay tuned for the reveal!

it's time for me to get busy....!

{ hugs }

{ oh, and many of you inquired about my wednesday water aerobics class
which will now be officially referred to as

"the evil noodle class"

the morning after class
which
need i remind you
was the morning of my thursday afternoon class
i found myself walking like tim conway
doing the little old man shuffle

i was one sore old lady

but i will be back for more noodle torture this week

because i've lost four pounds in that pool somewhere...
woot woot! }

  1. Hahahaha on the evil noodle class! I loved that post and can't wait to see your noodle workout! 4 pounds? I'm getting me a noodle if it can soak up that much in just one sitting.
I love Miss Annie! It must have been a child's wardrobe. I would love on like that intact to store my sewing and craft stuff- loved the little drawers!
I am sure it's going to be better white. I only like certain colors of green and they have to be in the sage toward the gray line.
With my PT some mornings I do the Tim Conway shuffle too! The same shuffle he did when he was the old fireman! Do you remember that and he had to give Harvey mouth to mouth and they had to end the scene early because they couldn't hold it together? Oh, I loved that show, and that's the image I get every time I get out of bed stiffer than a squirrel's tail at 30 below!

  22. I believe a painting project is good for all of us. Especially when it improves a room! Glad to know that one of us is not feeling so virtuous after exercise that she sends dh out for cupcakes and gains weight for the week. Hope you'll stop by and see our fabrics. Jane

  31. Hello Laurie,
What a gorgeous armoire, and it will look terrific in white as well! It's funny, I purchased a similar armoire last fall from Craigslist which resides in my bedroom holding my craft 'stuff'. I'll post it someday...
And I love your hemp linens, too!
    Happy WW,

  32. Hi Laurie-

Thanks so much for leaving me the very nice note. I have to laugh at your water aerobics class. A few years ago I hurt my back and was told to do this as it was low impact. It was fun, but I found the hardest part was just getting in the COLD water. Once I got going it warmed up. You are so funny calling it the evil noodle workout.

    My best- Diane

  36. Hi Laurie,
Can't wait to see those pieces pale white. I love your grainsack. It looks soft and worn, just perfect! I think I should drag a couple of mine out and run them through my wash with lots of softener. Have fun (or should I say survive) your noodle class!

  39. Laurie,
This piece of furniture has a great look and I love those grain sack pillows. The answer to your question about the glaze...it's Valspar-Translucent Color Glaze...color is Mocha...it's at Lowe's. It's very EASY to use...brush it on and just wipe it off with a soft cloth. Please let me know if you haveany other questions...I will be more than happy to help:)

    Blessings,
    Linda
