~ my sister, the brave warrior ~

many of you are probably wondering why debbie from
hasn't been blogging since before christmas

she was just diagnosed with uterine cancer

if you go to her blog and read her last post
on december 20
her petrifying ordeal is chronicled there

i spoke with her today for a while

it was so good to to hear her voice

june 2010

she's doing okay under the circumstances...

her girls spent the weekend with her to keep her company

but like any of us thrown into a situation like this

she's having moments of uncertainty and fear ~

of crying out to God with questions

of weeping uncontrollably

but she knows he's still in control

and is accepting whatever happens

she's good like that...

that's why i love her so
my strong sister-in-Christ

she's a faithful, trusting child of God

ready to roll with whatever is thrown into her path

and many things have over the years

she's handled them all eloquently and bravely
like the good soldier she is

her surgery is scheduled for january 11

once again she's got her armor on

and she's ready to fight

to fight with everything she has

she's not blogging right now
because the computer screen makes her feel dizzy

but i know she would love to hear from you all

and wouldn't it be a wonderful blessing to her to receive
a mailbox full of love?

so if you'd like to send her a card, a letter, a special little something -
you can mail it to her at this address

but above all else...

please pray for her

because there is incredible, unspeakable, amazing power in prayer

she's got her armor on
and we must put ours on, too ~

because we are her prayer warriors

are you ready and willing
 to stand beside her

and help her win the battle?

i know i am...

{ blessings }

~ laurie

  5. MY DEAR LAURIE,
I AM PRAYING FOR 5 WOMEN WITH UTERINE cancer AND 5 WITH OVARIAN AND A WHOLE LOTTA OTHER NASTY cancers BUT GOD IS MORE ALIVE AND MORE POWERFUL THAN ANY cancer. GOD KNOWS WE ARE GOING TO ASK QUESTIONS.....IN THE cancer WORLD ANSWERS, RESULTS OF TESTS, AND MORE COME VERY SLOWLY...FRUSTRATINGLY SLOW SOMETIMES.
I AM HUGGING THE BOTH OF YOU AND SPEAKING PEACE...WILL PUT HER ON MY PRAYER LIST FOR HAVING SURGERY JANUARY 11TH AND GET A CARD IN THE MAIL TO HER. PTAYERS, PRAYERS, AND PRAYERS.
WE ARE IN A BATTLE AND JUST LIKE YOU SAID SHE HAS HER WARRIOR CLOTHES ON.
    HAVE A SUGAR SWEET DAY
    HUGS

  8. Well, you know that I have been putting her name before the Lord since I read her news on Dec.20th. She is one strong lady and I have hopes that God will cradle her in His arms as she goes through this ordeal. We never know what life has in store for us...nor do we know the whys and wherefores of it, do we? It is sad and scary to know that any one of is vulnerable to this terrible disease...and we wonder why ANYONE we know and love is visited by such a devastating interruption to life.

God bless Debbie and God bless you for being the best kind of sister..the kind that cares deeply because you have chosen this sister- and not because of a biological connection. My heart goes out to Debbie, her family and you too! xxoo Diana

  9. Thinking of you and your sissy my sweet friend. Several years ago my Mr. AGPMan and I faced a very difficult time. Our hearts were broken and we feared every single day for our family and their future.

One morning I awoke after sobbing all night long to some wise words from my baby sister. She said this:

"Beck...God will not allow ANYTHING to come upon you that He does not provide His unwavering love, grace and strength to get through!"

I've never forgotten that and not long after that day He performed a miracle that still takes my breath away to this day.

I'm lifting your sister up to the Most High. He is able. HE IS ABLE!

    Love you~

  53. Hi Laurie -
Debbie is on my prayer list and so are you! Walking beside one who is hurting is a calling not all can do with grace and tenderness. I know you can just from the beautiful words you wrote in your email to me. "For such a time as this ... " we bind together and lay our requests at His feet. Blessing to you, my new friend. You can count on my prayers.

  58. You encourage me so much. Thank you for all the kind words. I'm so grateful that the Lord uses my transparency to touch your heart. I just share what He is doing inside of me..whether it be in words or painting I let out what He puts in...I have gone through seasons though of being afraid to let it out and I feel that I am just returning to letting it flow again...so your kind words encourage me and mean so much. I hope you are okay. I know you are worried about your friend and I believe busy praying. May we trust in the LORD that we surrender completely to Him in everything. ox`kerrie
