~ Ho-Hum to Handsome ~

You girls just rock my world, you know that??

I could go on and on about you all all day long, you know...but I'm sure you're waiting with baited breath to see what I've been working on. I'm linking with Between Naps on the Porch today so that I could share with you my latest metamorphosis.

I do have to confess that I made a return trip to the Allegan Antique Market last week Sunday with my treasure-hunter-in-crime, Pam. Debbie couldn't make it down here to go with me, so I had decided just to save some money and stay home.

There really wasn't anything that I needed. I knew that if I went I would just see things that I wanted and thought I needed.

You know how that goes, don't you?

(Please tell me yes...)

Anyway, Pam called and wanted me to go with her.

Ok....seriously.....

Was I supposed to say no?

Not on your life, girls.

It was a chilly day with the sun playing hide-and-go-seek with the clouds. We were glad to have our jeans and sweatshirts on. What a difference a month makes in Michigan! Last time I went it was the hottest day of year at 98 humid degrees. Go figure...

After hours of walking, looking, searching, turning over, pawing through, wheeling and dealing, we both ended up with a SUV-ful of delightful treasures.

THIS was my favorite find of the day (that Pam saw way at the back of a booth - thanks, Pam!), and the project that has happily consumed my week.

A vintage cupboard painted a minty green, complete with nasty plastic knobs and handles.

So, after two coats of Benjamin Moore's "Ivory Tusk" (the creamy white I've used all over the house) and two new sets of pretty painted handles,

the cupboard was added to this dresser which has graced my various bedrooms since 1976.

Ta-daa! Instant tall-boy dresser!

But......what to put inside of it.....?

Hmmmmm.....
Well, there was actually no question at all what was going inside according to the Queen of Heaven's Walk.

Out went the tiny, old, clunky television set, and in came a new HD television (Merry Christmas to us!) so we can watch the news (and view some vintage pretties, of course) every night all cuddled up in bed.
