Good bye,
sweet girl.
We will miss you so very much.
The way you greeted us every morning with your loud meow.
The kisses you covered my toes with as I stood at my craft table painting.
Your loud, rumbling purr that I felt deep in my chest as I hugged you.
Don't be afraid, sweetie. You won't be alone.
Toby, Tessa, Hannah, Libby, Kodey, Libby, Shiloh, Brandy, Wink, and Punkin are all waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.
Until we see you again,
Don't be afraid, sweetie. You won't be alone.
Toby, Tessa, Hannah, Libby, Kodey, Libby, Shiloh, Brandy, Wink, and Punkin are all waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.
Until we see you again,
we will miss you, sweet Roni ~
and we will carry your love forever in our heart...
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; Her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together....

ReplyDeleteLaurie,
ReplyDeleteI know your pain...just a year ago, we lost our beloved Maurice. She had been our constant companion for nearly 10 years! To this day, we still want no other pet. May God comfort you in the fact that while she was living you were her caregiver. In time may your sorrow turn to the Joy that she was loved by you. Hold your precious memories close to your heart!
Fondly,
Pat
I can't keep the tears from falling~~Anyone who loves an animal and lost one knows the pain~~They are so special and precious and give unconditional love(maybe thats why GOD made cats and dogs so we can see first hand how they love us so)I lost my "sweetie" Feb. last year. My husband brought her to OH when we married. Oh how I miss that little thing! (MY blog is named after her)Anyway, my heart goes out to you on your loss. From one sweetie to another~~~Roxie

ReplyDeleteHi Laurie,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. It is so hard to lose a member of the family.
Lots of tears for your loss---and for each one, lots of prayers, too, that the pain will be eased with fond memories of your furr friend. Been down this path, as difficult as it is...and yes, I believe in the Rainbow Bridge. I also believe that, those that we have loved that have crossed that bridge, select and send to us new furr friends-and sometimes people friends, too, to help us along our healing journey...After I lost my canine angel of 16 1/2 years, I said no more. The pain was too much to bear...6 feral cats later...some inside, some outside... The time will come..be open to it...be open to sharing and giving and being blessed yet again...when it comes... Blessings, Sharon
ReplyDeleteOk, soooo that made me cry. I'm so sorry you sweet kitty has passed, what a beautiful face...and i'm so touched that you know you will see her again...
ReplyDeleteCindy
Oh my sweet Laurie,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for the loss of your dear precious angel!!!
I know how hard it is to loose a beloved pet, it is heartbreaking because they are so apart of our family!!
My thoughts are with you my friend!!
Sincerely,
Melinda
Laurie~
ReplyDeleteI am crying with you. Just reading your post and the Rainbow Bridge poem makes me ache for you, Roni and even my lost little guys, Mitten and Cody. I have a 19 year old cat Abby who is still hanging in there and purrs when you walk in the room, but we know he doesn't have a lot of time, and then I have our 5 year old cat Lucia. Loosing them is so very hard but when I think about all the joy and love they gave us their entire life, that sustains me in their passing.
Thinking about you and Roni!! <3
Karen
Oh, Laurie- I am so sorry to hear that you lost Roni. It is so hard to lose a pet no matter how old, or sick, or frail they are. My heart aches for you and I know that there will be many times in the next few weeks when you will look around and, just for a moment, wonder where Roni is at the moment. God bless you, sweet Laurie- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI know we already "talked".....Jim sends his love to you and Rog too.
ReplyDeleteLove you both.

Oh she was so beautiful!! So sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeletesliding in to tell you that your kitty looked right at me in that loving picture! She looks like she lived to be seasoned kitty with much love surrounding her. I remember you commented on my blog 6 months ago when we lost our kitty Angel. Plant a rose in her memory. I am watching a beautiful rose bloom (called Angel Face) right next to the bird bath this summer as it was her favorite place to sit..but those poor birds didnt enjoy it much!
ReplyDelete(((hugs))

What a lovely post and sweet send off to Roni. Our pets are our family members and their loss is so hard. Thank you for your kind words on my blog, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you have lost your beloved kitty. We have lost so many during our marriage. Hubby wonders why we keep getting more, but he must know that all the love we receive from them is more than worth it, even though our hearts ache terribly when we have to let them go. Having been childless, these are the ones I care for and nurture. Thank you for giving your Roni a loving home. I'm sure she appreciated it, and repaid you a thousand times over with every purr !
ReplyDeleteI´m so sorry darling.
ReplyDeletebig kiss
